Career Awareness Program for 12th Graduate.

DHARAMSHALA: Tibetan Career Centre (TCC) a unit of Youth Empowerment Support (YES), Department of Home, CTA - Dharamsala initiated a 2 week consecutive program for freshly XIIth graduates from various Tibetan schools in India to create awareness about their career options and choices. The program also guided the participants for right career decision making. The students were also given information about the various scholarship opportunities available in India and abroad, vocational training opportunities and etc.

TCC invited various college alumni to interact with freshly 12th graduates who benefitted the participants by imparting first hand information regarding college admission procedures, course structures, fees structures, college life and the related information.

The final day of career awareness program was held at Dharamsala Tibetan Welfare Hall as Mega Career Fair, 24th April, 2016, Sunday. The event of career orientation talk, panel discussion among Tibetan featured Professionals, and their informal interaction with the participants particularly interested in their respective fields. The professionals invited for the panel discussions are:

  1. Dr. (Ms.) Tsering Yangkyi, Monitoring & Evaluator at Tibet Fund,
  2. Mr. Tenzin Dalha, Researcher at Tibet Policy Institute,
  3. Ms. Tsetan Dolkar, Web-developer & Designer and Founder of Tibet I Tech,
  4. Mr. Tenzin Norbu, Fashion Designer and Founder of Sharlo Designs and finally
  5. Mr. Kalsang Gyatso, Professional in Library Science.

Total of 56 Fresh Graduates from various Tibetan High Schools benefitted from this Career Awareness Program. 24 Tibetan Youths got opportunity as contributing member for this informational event. As a whole, 80 Tibetan youths witnessed this program as successful and result-oriented. TCC team is very much thankful to all the guest speakers from various colleges and the professionals for taking their time for our younger ones in guiding them towards a clearer career decision making.
