JAIPUR: Home Kalon Mr. Sonam Topgyal Khorlatsang at the invitation of the Jaipur Tibetan Refugee Hosiery and Ready Made Sellers Union, attended the celebration to mark the 27th anniversary of the conferment of noble peace prize on His Holiness the Dalai Lama at Jaipur as the Chief Guest. Other Guests include Mr. Rajesh Karnal – officer in charge and receiver property, members of Jaipur Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch Mr. Shiv Charan Gupta (Member of ICJ, London), Advocate – Supreme Court of India & Rajasthan High Court Bench, Mr. Saurabh Sarawat, Mr. Omkar Singh and Mr. Samir Vias, Mr. Naro Thundup – Chief Manager, Indian Oil Co-operation, Mr. PM Buddha – Buddhist Friendship Association, Mr. OP Misra Indian Gas Agency (ex SDM), Mr. S. Kavita Mishra – Indian Gas Agency and Basti Pardhans.

Highlighting on the Kashag’s 10th December statement, Home Kalon informed that today we gathered here to celebrate and pay tribute to His Holiness the Dalai Lama. His message of love, peace, compassion and non violence resonates to all sentient beings. These are universal values. We Tibetans are fortunate to have our leader as His Holiness the Dalai Lama who is one of the most admired leaders in the world.

In his address to the public he informed about His his Holiness successful visit to Mongoloia, meeting with US President and meeting with scientist and thinker in the mind and life conference. His Holiness has been working tirelessly not just for the Tibet’s just cause but also for the world peace.

Home Kalon urged that we need to uphold the values of Tibetan Buddhist culture, identity and follow the teachings of His Holiness to repay our gratitude.

He informed on 15th Kashag’s vision and present situation of Tibet, with 145 self immolations, the demolition of Larung Gar.

On the recent unfortunate unforseen fire mishap at the Delhi Lal Qilla Tibetan shops has caused distress to the Tibetan vendors. The Central Tibetan Administration immediately came for support and provided relief. To our relief appeal sent, support poured from all quarters, especially from the Delhi state government. He emphasised to strictly follow safety precautionary measure to prevent such mishaps.

He also urged them to maintain cordial relationship with the local Indians and follow the law of the land.

He lauded the efforts of the Jaipur sweater association union for the well organised, good coordination and cooperation for the set up such a Tibetan sweater union.

Jaipur Tibetan sweater union comprises of 250 shops, one of the largest Tibetan sweater union in India. It was established in the year 1979.

The concern of the Jaipur sweater union is getting a proper land for setting up their shops in order that they don’t have to every time get sanction and change the location, which is cumbersome. They are in the process of registering their union and later apply for land lease. Home Kalon assured that all possible assistance will be rendered to get the land lease.

Mr. Saurabh Saraswati in his speech assured the support from the Jaipur Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch and lashed out at China’s disrespect for Human Rights. To resist such ill treatment there will be protest and Indian people will stand in solidarity with Tibetans, said Mr. Saurabh.

Mr. Rajesh Karnal the officer in charge and receiver-property Rajasthan High court mentioned that during his tenure and for the last 3 decades the Tibetans have been doing the sweater business and he has not heard of single incident of activity that caused harm to the city, they have lived here with dignity and doing their business smoothly, which is commendable. Their contribution of providing warm clothes during winter along with their warmth nature and peacful coexistence is appreciated by all.

The program was followed by song and dance performances from the Jaipur sweater sellers.
