Kashag Embarks On All-India Site Visit.

Members of the 15th Kashag.

DHARAMSHALA: Beginning March end till May end, members of the 15th Kashag led by Sikyong Dr Lobsang Sangay will embark on an all-India site visit to communicate strategic policies on public welfare, education, health, finance and reinforce Tibetan unity and identity in accordance with the wishes of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

Kalons will conduct community engagements in the following eight area allocations:

Kashag's Five-Fifty strategy

To communicate outlined initiatives and sustainability programs based on the five-fifty strategy of the 15th Kashag. Key program areas include: an integrated Settlement Development through community participatory process; establishing of a banking-like institution; Organisational Developmental Analysis; leadership development programs including institutional capacity building.

The programs will focus on maximising equal participation of both men and women in ownership of the development process.

Middle Way Policy

To strengthen awareness and encourage grassroots discussion on CTA's Middle Way Policy.

CTA's annual budget for 2017-18

To advise important information on CTA's budget for fiscal year 2017 - 2018 of 2439 million rupees for activities and functions of the various departments and offices of the Central Tibetan Administration.

Loan allotment for 1000 Tibetan sweater sellers, agricultural and commercial practices in Tibetan settlements.

To inform public on these core programs set from the grant of USD 23 Million awarded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to strengthen self-reliance and resilience of Tibetan communities in South Asia.

Women Empowerment Policy

To communicate Women Empowerment Policy, step-wise formulation of the policy and the official Tibetan women's day declared by Kashag on 12 March 2017.

Tibetan electoral reforms as finalised by the 16th Tibetan parliament

To empower public with precise information on the electoral reforms finalised during the third session of the 16th Tibetan parliament.

2017 Year of Campaign and 2018 as year of gratitude

To mobilise collective efforts in observing CTA's year of campaign and year of gratitude in 2018.

Kalon for Department of Religion and Culture, Ven Karma Gelek Yuthok will visit Tibetan settlements in Orissa, Bandra and Mainpat. Home Kalon, Sonam Topgyal Khorlatsang will visit Tibetan settlements in South India, Sataun and Paonta. Finance Kalon, Karma Yeshi will visit Tibetan settlements in Gangtok, Kalimpong, Ravangla, Darjeeling and Sonada. Education Kalon, Ngodup Tsering will visit Tibetan settlements in Miao, Tezu, Tenzikhang, Bomdila, Tuting and Arunachal Pradesh. Security Kalon, Phagpa Tsering Labrang will visit Tibetan settlements in Kamrao, Sataun, Paonta Sahib, Puruwala, Herbertpur, Mussoorie and Dickyiling. Health Kalon, Choekyong Wangchuk will visit Tibetan settlements in Leh Ladakh, Jangthang area, Srinagar and Manali.
